Bir billing, paragliding capital of India

To the eastern side of the Dhauladhar ranges, a beautiful hamlet Bir is located in Joginder Nagar Valley of Himachal Pradesh in the Northern part of India. Commonly referred as the “Paragliding Capital of India”, Bir is also a noted center for ecotourism, spiritual studies, and meditation.

Home to a Tibetan refugee settlement with several Buddhist monasteries and a large stupa Bir is also a paraglider's landing site. 


BILLING

A treacherous mountain path of 14 kilometers also accessible by road is a takeoff site of the paragliders. One the way to billing one can see the view of mighty Dhauladhar's overlooking the planes of Kangra valley. Bir billing also witnessed the International Paragliding World Cups and, since then the tourism sector is growing rapidly.

HOW TO REACH:

Bir is 68Kms from Gaggal Kangra, nearest airport. Well connected with road, one can hire taxi from the airport or can use public transports. The journey may take 2 to 3 hours to reach the takeoff point billing.
